An Elastic IP address is a public IPv4 address, which is reachable from the internet. If your instance does not have a public IPv4 address, you can associate an Elastic IP address with your instance to enable communication with the internet. Now within the Dome9 Compliance Engine, you can reason about attributes of Elastic IP, such as whether its associated with an EC2 instance.
Few GSL examples:
EIP should be associated with an instance
ElasticIP should have associationId
EIP should be allocated in a VPC
ElasticIP should have domain = 'vpc'
